Thankful

Personal collection. I included this work since it always comes up in discussion. It is one of the fastest paintings I’ve ever done. It’s pen and ink, watercolor, acrylic, and gouache.
A statement to child hunger. The crumbling wall, the colors and patterns in the mother’s smock represent many nations, the joyful shadows of dancing children as mother delivers one more warm meal. Everyone’s thankful.
This is one of my favorite works and was even on display in a NY gallery.
